The NMCA West’s third race of the season brought thunderous racing action to Fontana’s Auto Club Dragway this past weekend. The Hedman Headers Nostalgic Street Car Class saw an exciting group of 17 drivers make the cut for Sunday’s eliminations. After battling it out for qualifying spots, Matt Loutsenhizer and his Ford would take the number one seed heading into round one.
The second race of the 2014 NMCA West season was a heck of a show, drawing large crowds to a special and rare outing at the Auto Club Raceway in Pomona this past weekend. The second race of the National Muscle Car Association’s NMCA West series drew hundreds of racers and muscle car fans to the historic Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA. Always the favorite venue of the season, the weekend was packed with full-throttle racing action and more than a few upsets. The Hedman Hedders Nostalgia Street Car class was once again one of the largest classes of the event, with 41 cars making the grid for the start of elimination racing on Sunday morning. Though the field was packed with seasoned veterans like Mike Nordahl (who won 3 Wallys in a single event last year), Ron De Hoop, Steve Cox, and Frank Coscarelli, stiff competition and some very determined racers would see many of these icons fall. The National Muscle Car Association’s NMCA West series has returned for 2013 providing racers with a fast-paced four race season at some of the most famous drag strips on the west coast. The season officially kicked off on April 5th with the NMCA West Street Car Nationals at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. As the popularity of this series continues to grow, the competition gets tougher and tougher, especially in the Hedman Hedders Nostalgia Street Car index racing class. The National Muscle Car Association’s NMCA West series returned for its third race of the season and was held at the SpeedWorld Drag Strip in Phoenix, Arizona September 21-23 2012. After Saturday’s qualifying session, Mike Nordahl was the top qualifier in the Hedman Hedders Nostalgia Street Car class, by far the largest class of the weekend. The National Muscle Car Association’s NMCA West series held its 2nd Annual West Coast Shootout at the Historic Auto Club Raceway in Pomona on Aug. 17-19, 2012. With air temperatures over 100-degrees and track temperatures pushing 140+ degrees, the 64 top competitors in the Hedman Hedders Nostalgia Street Car Class moved on from Saturday’s two qualifying rounds to a grueling seven-round elimination on Sunday.
